Fractures of the Forearm/Wrist

Breaks of the forearm or wrist bones from falls or trauma, treated with splinting or surgical stabilization followed by structured rehab.

A break that heals best with early, guided rehab.

Hand and wrist fractures are often named for their anatomical location, how they occurred, or the physician who first described them. They commonly result from household accidents, workplace trauma, or recreational injuries.

Most hand fractures heal on their own without surgery, though some require surgical hardware to stabilize the bone. A custom-fitted thermoplastic splint is often used to protect the fracture while it heals, and can be removed for hygiene and prescribed exercises.

Therapy can often begin within days or weeks of the injury or surgery to restore motion and reduce pain and swelling, with full rehabilitation continuing over weeks to months to rebuild strength and range of motion.
