Tibialis Posterior Tendonitis

Degenerative irritation of the tendon supporting the arch, common in middle-aged and overweight individuals, often linked to flattened arches.

A tendon under strain from supporting the arch.

Tibialis posterior tendonitis is common in middle-aged and overweight individuals due to degenerative changes in the tendon over time. It can be a partial or complete injury, with pain below or behind the inside ankle bone.

Flattened arches are a common finding alongside this condition. Treatment typically includes orthotics, anti-inflammatory Physical Therapy modalities, and in some cases surgical debridement.
